The Braves are coming into this game with a 10-5 record this season and as usual they have come out as one of the hotter teams in the league to start the season. They have won their last 2 straight as well as 3 of their last 4 games and they are coming off of a 6-1 win against the Astros in the series opener here. Their offense has also been great in their recent games as they have scored at least 6 runs in 3 of their last 4 as well as 5 of their last 7 games. They are going up against an Astros team that is 6-12 this season and even though they won their last series against the Rangers 2-1, they have actually lost 5 of their last 7 games still. The Astros also have Hunter Brown starting here and he is 0-2 with a 16.43 ERA this season. He was actually great in his 1st start of the season against the Yankees as he allowed no earned runs in 4 innings, but he has completely unravelled in his 2 starts since then. He followed that performance up against the Yankees with a start which he allowed 5 earned runs in 3 innings against the Rangers, and now he is coming off of a much worse start which he got blown up in for 9 earned runs against the Royals, failing to even make it out of the 1st inning in that start. He is going to have a much tougher time here with the way he has been pitching as the Braves have been on fire to start the season and once again, they also have the best offense in the league right now. Reynaldo López is starting for the Braves here and he is 1-0 with a 0.75 ERA this season. He has only made 2 starts this season but he has been great in both as he pitched at least 6 innings in each start and only allowed 1 earned run total between the 2 starts, coming off of the start which he pitched 6 scoreless innings against the Mets. The Astros offense has been very inconsistent to start the season and even in recent years, their offense has been a very slow starter. The Braves are firing on all cylinders right now and have the better pitching matchup as well. The Braves will win this game.
