The Phillies are coming into this game with a 5-6 record this season and they are coming off of a 3-0 loss in their last game which they will be hungry to bounce back from after getting shutout for the 1st time this season. Their offense has been good recently as they have scored at least 5 runs in 2 of their last 4 games and this is a game they will get up for to win this series and respond to their scoreless day on Tuesday. They are going up against a Cardinals team that is 6-6 this season and their offense has not been great as they have scored 3 runs in each of their last 4 games, but this is a great game for their offense to explode in. Aaron Nola is starting for the Phillies here and he is 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA this season. He was a lot better in his last start as he allowed no runs in a little under 6 innings pitched, but he was also up against the Nationals who are one of the weaker teams in the league. He still allowed 6 earned runs in a little over 4 innings against the Braves in his 1st start of the season and he also gave up 3 runs the last time he was pitching in this ballpark last season in September. He is going to give up some runs here with the way the Cardinals have been hitting consistently, and the Phillies bullpen has not been great either. Lance Lynn is starting for the Cardinals here and he is 0-0 with a 4.15 ERA this season. He was good in his 1st start of the season as he allowed no runs against the Dodgers, the team he pitched for last season, but he unraveled in his last start as he allowed 4 earned runs in a little under 5 innings pitched against the ice cold Marlins. The Phillies were shut out yesterday so they are going to be hungry to get their bats going here and Lynn has been awful over the last 2 seasons as well. Between these two teams, there will be enough runs in this game to push it over the total.
