LAFC is coming into this match with some big changes this season. They lost some big names in the offseason and they are going to be a very different team this season with less firepower than what we have seen from this team the past few years. They are going up against a Seattle side that was already one of the best teams in the MLS last season for the regular season and they are only going to improve this season as well. Seattle had one of the best defenses in the MLS last season as they only allowed 32 goals in their 34 regular season matches. The core of their starting lineup has not changed much from last season either so they are going to be just as good on defense this season. Seattle is going to be away from home in this match so they are going to play with more of a defensive style anyway considering how good LAFC has been at home in past seasons. They are also getting a much weaker LAFC side though so it will be easier for them to defend. Even when LAFC was much stronger, these two have a history of lower scoring matches recently as they have gone under 2.5 goals in their last 3 straight as well as 4 of their last 5 meetings. This is going to be a low scoring and defensive match that stays under 2.5 goals.
