Arsenal is coming into this match with no recent trend to the under in their matches and they have been in very good form as well. They have won 5 of their last 6 matches with all 5 of those wins going over 2.5 goals, but they are coming off of a 1-0 loss in their last match which came in Champions League during the week. Up until that match, Arsenal had won 5 straight matches playing just once a week but now the midweek Champions League match has thrown them out of form. That was a match they were focused on coming away with a good result in but they were stifled by the great defensive form of Porto. They are going up against a Newcastle side that has not been trending to the under in their recent matches either, but they have still been in good form with 3 wins in their last 5 matches and no losses in that span. Newcastle has been awful on defense in their recent matches as they have allowed at least 2 goals in each of their last 3 matches, but that is actually unusual for this team since they have a lot of quality defenders and they will be looking to have a much better performance on defense here. Defense has to be a priority here away from home with the way their defense has played recently, and especially now that they are going up against one of the better squads in the league who has been so tough to score on recently. Newcastle is going to come into this match with a defensive mentality and Arsenal will still be feeling a bit spent from their midweek match where they had to travel to Portugal.
