They are going up against a UMass team that is 16-9 this season and has not been as good in the conference this year at 7-6. They have won 2 of their last 3 as well as 4 of their last 6 games but they have also been playing in much closer games recently, even when they win. They have 2 losses in their last 4 games and they have 2 wins in their last 5 games that were both within 2 points. They have not been that great at home either as they have won 2 of their last 3 games there, but both of those wins were by 2 points or less as well. VCU has been one of the better teams in this conference all season and they are still alive to win it at 9-3 since the leader is 11-2, but they cannot afford to lose another game as they still need to gain 1 back so they will be hungry to leave it all on the court here to try and win this game.
