Michigan State is coming into this game with a 14-8 record this season and they have been playing very well in their recent games. They have won their last 2 straight as well as 5 of their last 6 games as they have been starting to heat up now, but 4 of those wins also came at home. They have only played 2 road games in that span with a 2 point win over Maryland and a 15 point loss against Wisconsin. They have also been awful on the road this season as they have only played in 5 road games this year, all 5 being conference games as well, and they have lost 4 of their 5 games with that 2 point win against Maryland being their only win. They are going up against a Minnesota team that is 14-7 this season and has been playing much better in their recent games. Minnesota had a very strong start to the season going 12-3 in their first 15 games but they hit a slump in the conference and ended up losing 4 straight games. Now they are 5-5 in the conference but they have been playing much better recently as they have won their last 2 straight games and are gaining steam once again. This is also a revenge game for Minnesota as they did lose by 10 points on the road against Michigan State a few weeks ago, but they have also been playing much better since that loss. They have played 3 games since losing to Michigan State, losing at home to Wisconsin by 2 points but following up with a 9 point win on the road against Penn State and a 9 point OT win at home against a very good Northwestern team in their last game. Minnesota is going to have some confidence from that win against Northwestern in their last game and they will be hungry to take advantage of this Michigan State team that has struggled a lot more on the road this season.
