South Florida is coming into this game with a 13-5 record this season and they have been playing very well in their recent games. They have won their last 5 straight games as well as 11 of their last 12 games with their only loss in that span coming on the road against UAB by 4 points. They have been much better since that loss as they have won 5 straight games in the conference and that includes 2 road wins as well, beating Temple and Memphis on the road in that span. They are going up against an East Carolina team that is 11-10 this season and has not been great in their recent games. They have won their last 2 straight games but both of those wins came against 2 of the worst teams in the conference in Temple and Wichita State while they have still lost 3 of their last 5 games as well. They are 4-4 in the conference but all 4 of their wins came against bottom half teams as they beat Wichita State, Tulsa, and Temple twice. They even needed OT to beat Temple at home in their last game and they have lost 2 of their last 3 games at home as they have struggled against stronger teams in the conference, losses coming against SMU and North Texas. South Florida is the better team here and they have been playing much better in the conference with some impressive wins as they try to prove themselves as a tournament team this year and a force in the AAC as well.
