The Saints are coming into this game with a 7-7 record this season and they have won their last 2 straight games to keep their playoff hopes alive. They are still in position to make it in a Wild Card spot as well as winning the NFC South, but their last 2 wins were also against the Panthers and the Giants who are both 2 of the worst teams in the NFL this season. They have also played their last 3 straight games at home and have been worse on the road this season, losing their last 2 straight by 8+ points as well as losing 4 of their last 5 road games as well. They are going up against a Rams team that is 7-7 this season and they have no shot to win the NFC West with the 49ers dominating the division so the Wild Card is their only way into the playoffs which makes this game very important to them as well. The Rams did not have a great start to the season as they dealt with injuries but now they have been in desperation mode over the last few weeks, playing with urgency in every game as it is a must win. They have also been getting much healthier now and this Rams team is very dangerous with a healthy Stafford along with some healthy weapons on offense and an offensive mind like McVay. They have been playing much better recently as well as they have won 4 of their last 5 games, their only loss in that span coming on the road against the Ravens in OT, and they have won their last 3 straight games at home as well, winning their last 2 games by 8+ points in each. The Rams are getting better and better in each week towards the playoffs and they are starting to surge now while the Saints have been getting by beating up on bad teams that are not playoff teams this season.
