Western Carolina is coming into this game with an 8-2 record this season and they have been much better recently as they have won their last 2 straight games since their last loss. They started the season winning 6 straight games and then lost 2 straight against Gardner-Webb and High Point, but they have bounced back now and have also been very good on the road this season. Their 2 losses did come on the road this season but prior to that they had won their first 3 road games of the year and they are also coming off of a road win against South Carolina Upstate by close to 20 points in their last game so they are 4-2 on the road this season. They are going up against a Vanderbilt team that is 4-6 this season and has not been playing well recently. They have lost their last 2 straight as well as 5 of their last 6 games and 2 of those 3 losses also came at home as well. They have played against some tougher teams recently as they just lost to Texas Tech and San Francisco, but both of those losses were also blowouts by 10+ points. They have 4 wins this season and their only win against a team with a winning record came against UNC Greensboro while their other 3 wins all came against some very bad teams with losing records. Western Carolina has a very good team this season with many returning players from last year and they have already been tested multiple times on the road this season.
