AMEDEUS' CFB AAC GAME OF THE MONTH!
(NCAAF) SMU vs. Tulane,
Point Spread: -3.00 | -120.00 Tulane (Home)
Result: Loss
SMU is coming into this game with a 10-2 record this season and they finished the year winning their last 8 straight games. They were 8-0 in the conference this season but they did not have a very strong schedule as the AAC was very weak in general and their only quality win came on the road against Memphis by 4 points. They are going up against a Tulane team that is 11-1 this season with their only loss coming against Ole Miss at the beginning of the season, a game they were missing Michael Pratt in and still lost by 7, but they have also won their last 10 straight games since that loss. They were also 8-0 this season in the conference and they did have a tougher schedule as they also have a win on the road by 10 points against Memphis as well as a win against the 8-4 UTSA team in their last game, winning that game at home by 10+ points. Both of these teams have very good defenses as SMU averages around 17 points allowed per game while Tulane averages around 18 points allowed per game, but Tulane has also been more consistent on defense as they have played well against the better teams they have faced while SMU suffocates the bad teams from scoring but has allowed some points against the better teams they have faced this year. SMU allowed 34 points in their recent road win against Memphis while Tulane only allowed 21 points in their road win against them as well as shutting down the potent UTSA offense at home last week, holding them to just 16 points. SMU is going to have a very tough time scoring points on this Tulane defense on the road, especially with Preston Stone out as well. Tulane is the much better team and they are going to defend their title here at home. Tulane will cover the spread in this game.
