UNC Wilmington is coming into this game with a 4-1 record this season and they are also coming off of a very good season last year, returning over 70% of their minutes played as well as their scoring from that team. They started this season playing very well as they won 4 straight games and have some quality wins as well. Both of their wins at home this season were against schools who are not in Division I but they do have a nice road win against UNC Asheville, winning by 10+ points, and a neutral location win against Murray State as well. They are actually coming off of their 1st loss of the season as they lost to App State by 30 points at a neutral location. They are going to be hungry to bounce back in this game against a much weaker opponent though and UNC Wilmington has already shown they can win games away from home this season. They are going up against a Florida Gulf Coast team that is 1-5 this season and has not been playing well despite returning a lot of players from last year. Their only win this season came in their only home game this year, but that win was also by 9 points against Ave Maria who is not a Division I school. They have lost their last 4 straight games since then with 3 of those losses coming at neutral locations and against mediocre teams. UNC Wilmington has been a much better team this season and they are going to bounce back in this game as they take advantage of the way FGCU has been struggling.
