The Saints are coming into this game with a 5-5 record this season and they are also coming off of their bye. They had won 2 straight games before losing against the Vikings in their last game prior to the bye. Defense has been a big strength for the Saints this season but now they are without one of the best defensive backs in the league, Marshon Lattimore, and their defense has not been very good in recent games either. They have allowed at least 27 points in 3 of their last 4 games and that is not very good considering how they have also had offensive issues this season. They were starting to play better prior to their bye but now they have been regressing since scoring 38 points against the Colts a few weeks ago, scoring less and less points in each of their last 2 games since then. They are also missing Michael Thomas now while Derek Carr has also been dealing with a few injuries all season. They are going up against a Falcons team that is 4-6 this season but this is a huge game for them at home as a win puts them level with the Saints at the top of the division. The Falcons have not been playing well recently with 3 straight losses coming into this game but their offense has also been much better in those as they have scored at least 20 points in each of their last 3 games. Ridder is starting again for the Falcons but he has been much better at home in the NFL and in college and the Falcons are also going to have success running the ball on this Saints defense. The Falcons are going to cover the spread in this game.
