North Carolina is coming into this game with an 8-3 record this season but their biggest struggles this year have come in conference as all 3 of their losses are against ACC opponents. They have not been playing well recently either as they have lost 3 of their last 5 games. Their 2 wins were not very good either as they beat Campbell at home and they beat Duke at home by 2 points in OT, Duke missing their starting quarterback in that game. Going into that game against Campbell, they lost 2 straight games against Virginia and Georgia Tech while their win against Duke was not very convincing. They are also coming off of a loss in their last game against Clemson, losing 31-20, and they have now lost their last 2 straight games on the road. They are going up against an NC State team that is also 8-3 this season but unlike UNC, NC State has actually been getting stronger toward the end of the season. They have won their last 4 straight games as well as 5 of their last 6 games and they have also been much stronger in the ACC this year as they are 5-2 in the conference. NC State has been dominant in their recent games with home wins against Miami and Clemson as well as road wins against Wake Forest and Virginia Tech. They have been playing much better than UNC to end the season and they will be hungry to end their season strong with a big rivalry win at home against UNC.
