(NBA) Cleveland vs. Brooklyn,
Point Spread: -1.00 | -105.00 Cleveland (Away)
Result: Push
The Cavaliers are coming into this game in their 2nd season with Donovan Mitchell on the team and already last season he carried this team to being a big surprise as they were one of the stronger teams in the Eastern Conference all season. They exited last season's playoffs in a bad series against the Knicks but they are going to be hungry to get that bad taste out of their mouth and get off to a good start this season. They are going up against a Nets team that had a complete disaster last season as they had all of their stars jump ship between Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. They still have Ben Simmons but he has not showed much on the court over the last few years and they also picked up some other players through their trades like Mikal Bridges, Cameron Johnson, and Spencer Dinwiddie. Their starting lineup lacks a real star though and Dinwiddie does not bring a very strong defensive presence to the team either. The Cavaliers have a star in Donovan Mitchell though to carry this team as he did last season and he also has a very good supporting cast of players that have not changed much from last season which is very good considering how the Cavaliers led the NBA in defensive rating. The Cavaliers are going to get better this season and they also have a big edge on defense in this game. The Cavaliers will cover the spread in this game.
