LSU is coming into this game after going 10-4 last season but still went on to win their division in the SEC with a 6-2 conference record. They are coming into this game as the 5th ranked team in the country and they are already presented with a must win game in their season opener as they are going up against a Florida State team that is ranked 8th in the country. Brian Kelly is now in his 2nd season with the team and after already finding some success in his 1st year, he is going to be hungry for much more this season. He has a much better team this year with a lot more talent that he picked up in the transfer portal and he is going to have this team firing on all cylinders in this 1st game of the year which is very important for them. Florida State was very good last season as they were 10-3 overall but all 3 of those losses came in conference games as they were 5-3 and struggled against their own ACC opponents. Now they have a lot to prove this year but there is also a lot of pressure on them to succeed and now they are going up against a much more talented LSU side that plays in a much stronger conference.
