Total: 148.50 | -105.00 Over
Result: Win
Im on the over 148.5 in this Arkansas Razorbacks vs Texas Tech Red Raiders Matchup for these reasons:
- This total is recency bias in regard to these two teams previous matchups where they overwhelmed their opponents and held them under 70 points defensively. I don’t think either team here will be subject to scoring less than 70 points given their offensive acumen over the course of the season. Both teams average over 75 points per game (TTU averages 80) and Arkansas are the weaker defense in points allowed, meaning they will need to boost their offense in order to keep up with this TTU team if things start hot for The Red Raiders who shoot 37% from deep and 46% from the field.
- TTU shot 2-14 from long range last outing and still scored 77 points on 54% shooting overall vs a much more defensively sound Drake University. There’s no chance that the Ref Raiders shoot as poorly as they did last game vs a more inferior defense like Arkansas.
- Arkansas shot 2-19 from long range in their last game vs a better defensive team in St.John’s last outing too. There’s positive regression is sure to be seen here as both teams are stepping down in defensive competition.
- Neither unit showed any signs of hanging their hats on the defensive apartment if you analyze what transpired in their last matches. Drake still shot 43% from the floor, 14 free throws and 47% from deep against TTU, and St. John’s scored 66 on the Razorbacks and had a terrible shooting night, but shot 31 free throws as one of the worst known overall shooting teams in the tournament. Defense will be optional in this game.
Official Play: Over 148.5
Side Bet: Elijah Hawkins over 10.5 points
Hail Mary: TTU -5.5
