The Missouri Tigers and Memphis Tigers square open the season in an intriguing opening game. Missouri finished last season 8-24 overall, including 0-18 in conference play. The Memphis Tigers went 22-10 last season overall and 11-7 in the AAC. Missouri returns five players from last year's team and added talent from the portal. Tony Perkins comes over from Iowa to give the Tigers scorer. Neither side of the ball was very good last season and can only improve over last season or so they hope. Last year, the Tigers finished the season 20-13 but just 11-7 in the AAC. The Tigers added Tulsa transfer PJ Haggerty, Texas transfer Tyrese Hunter and Colby Rogers from Wichita State. Memphis has been underachieving for many seasons and Hardaway needs to do something this season. Missouri didn't win a game after December last season and went winless in the SEC. The Tigers once again disappointed their fans. Both teams have improved rosters but Memphis has built a roster ready to win now. They improved their three-point shooting, which has always been a problem. I see Memphis making a statement in this game and coming away with an easy win.
