The Tigers came away with a dramatic win over Cleveland to even the series over 1-1. Cleveland will send Alex Cobb to the mound. He is 2-1 with a 2.76 ERA. Cleveland managed just three hits and had 11 strikeouts against Skubal through seven innings and the Tigers bullpen. Closer Clase gave up a three run homer in the top of the ninth for the only runs in the game. Clase had only given up 5 earned runs all season before that home run. Cobb will be making just his fourth appearance this season and has not pitched in over a month. Cobb is 3-2, with a 2.91 ERA in 8 career games. Detroit’s bullpen is 2-0 with three saves and a 2.57 ERA in four playoff games and I expect another day of pitching “chaos” from the Tigers. This is a must win game and I think the Guardians are taking a chance with Cobb. He has looked good in his small sample size but he has not pitched in over a month. The Tigers did well using seven pitchers in game 2 against the Astros and came away with a win and he would be happy to do that again. Detroit fans will be rocking for this game and i see the Tigers sending them home happy.
