The Cards are in the hunt for a playoff spot but have struggled lately. They are 6-8 over their last fourteen games with an ERA over 4. In his last start, Gibson allowed two runs in five innings. Over the last 13 games the Cubs have produced just 47 runs. The Cubs have been getting it done with their pitching, but they have allowed at least four runs in four straight games, and six of their last seven, before allowing three yesterday. Taillon allowed six runs in 4 1/3 innings last tie out. The Cardinals have won six of the 10 games so far between the two. Gibson pitched his best game of the season against the Cubs back in June. He allowed 2 hits in seven shutout innings. Taillon has lost two straight and I look for the Cards to pick u a win in this one.
