The Rangers are putting up 4.26 runs per game, Scherzer has not pitched a lot this season but is 2-3 with a 3.57 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP in 35.1 innings. The St. Louis Cardinals are second in the NL Central and are 6.0 games back in the division and just 1.0 game behind in the NL Wild Card. They are putting up 4.12 runs per game. Lynn is 5-4 with a 4.17 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP in 101.1 innings. During July, Scherzer is 1-2 with a 4.32 ERA and a .268 batting average against while while Lance Lynn is 1-1 with a 7.90 ERA and a 1.98 WHIP. The Rangers are scoring 4.3 runs in their last six games while the Cardinals are averaging 3.4 runs per game in their previous five. I like the pitching matchup in this one as I think it favors the Rangers as Scherzer is starting to come into form and he looked great in his last outing.
