The Cubs and Brewers split the first two games of the series. Eric Lauer gets the start for Milwaukee. He was 11-7 with a 3.69 ERA, and a 1.23 WHIP, in 158.2 innings last season. This is Lauer’s ninth career appearance and eighth start against the Cubs. He is 2-1 with a 4.66 ERA, a 1.33 WHIP. Free Agent Jameson Taillon will make his debut for Chicago. He posted a 14-5 record with a 3.11 ERA, and a 1.128 WHIP in 177.1 innings for the Yankees. Taillon is 3-5 with a 3.55 ERA, and a 1.217 WHIP against the Brewers. Milwaukee is still struggling to score runs, a carryover from last season. Taillon pitched well in spring training and Lauer was just plain awful. I have more confidence in the Cub's pitching and hitting in this one.
