The Cleveland Guardians and the Chicago White Sox finish off their four-game set after splitting a doubleheader yesterday. Cleveland took the first two games and was poised to take the nightcap after scoring four runs in the seventh to take the lead, but they rallied in the eighth to get the split. Cleveland will look to take the series by sending Shane Bieber to the mound. He is 4-5 with a 3.24 ERA and 106 strikeouts this season. The White Sox averted disaster to start the second half by securing the win last night. They will hope to carry that momentum forward into today's game and into the second half by sending Dylan Cease to the mound. He is 9-4 with a 2.15 ERA and 150 strikeouts this season. Cleveland has gone under in 7 of their last 10 Sunday games. Both teams have their aces on the mound and should be able to control the opposing team's hitters. Lynne had shut down the Guardians yesterday for six innings before they were able to get to the Sox pen. Bieber threw a complete game against the Sox last time out and should have another good game here. Cease can be overpowering and I am looking for a good outing in this one. I see a lot of Zeros on the board early in this one.
