The Richmond Spiders opened the season with a win over Morehead State. As a team, they are putting up 82 points a game and are shooting 55.6 percent from the field and on the defensive end, they are giving up 64 points and their opponents are shooting 43.1 percent. The offense is led by Nathan Cayo with 23 points. Grant Golden adds 16 points and grabs four rebounds a game.

The Kentucky Wildcats also won their season opener over Morehead State. As a team, the Wildcats are putting up 81 points and are shooting 55.9 percent from the field. On the defensive end, they are giving up 45 points and their opponents are shooting 34 percent from the field. The offense is led by Brandon Boston Jr. with 15 points and seven rebounds a game. Devin Askew adds 12 points and grabs three rebounds.

Both of these teams had easy wins over Morehead State in their openers. Of the two, Kentucky was better on the defensive end, especially defending the three. Richmond doesn't have the depth to stay with the Wildcats over 40 minutes. It may be close early but Kentucky will take control down the stretch and come away with a win and cover.
