Result: Loss
Total: 62.00 | -105.00 Under
Result: Loss
Penn State takes on Indiana to open the Big 10 season for both teams. Penn State finished last season at 11-2 overall and 7-2 in conference play. The Nittany Lions took care of Memphis in the Cotton Bowl Classic. Penn State returns their quarterback from last year's team but was delivered a blow when starting running back Journey Brwon was ruled out for the season with a medical condition. They also don't have a lot of experience at wide receiver. Their best defensive player, Micah Parsons, also opted-out on the season but their defense should be ok without him.
Indiana had a nice season last season, putting together an 8-5 overall record and they were 5-4 in the Big Ten. The Hoosiers went to the Gator Bowl, but were upended by Tennessee 23-22. Indiana lost their quarterback, Penix Jr., after just six games but was able to put together a good season. Penix is back under center this season and the man that replaced him last season took his wares to Northwestern. Indiana should be able to generate offense this season behind the running and throwing of Penix.
The Nittany Lions have gone UNDER in five of their last six games on the road. This is a high total for being the first game of the season for both teams. Penn State will be looking to establish a running game early in the season and to see who they can rely on running the ball with Brown out of the lineup. Penix Jr. has not played in a real game in a while and it may take some time to get back in the groove. Neither team is that bad on defense so I like this game to stay under the number.
Play on the UNDER.
