THE PROFESSOR’S MLB UPPER-DECK BLOWOUT (3-1 Yesterday)
(MLB) Chi Cubs vs. Detroit,
Money Line: -126.00 Chi Cubs (Away)
Result: Loss
The Chicago Cubs have been in a bit of a slump having split their last 10 games after starting the season by winning 13 of their first 16 games. The Cubs are without Kris Bryant and Javier Baez has been in a slump, but Baez hit two home runs last night which could be a good sign for the Cubs. The Cubs took Game 1 of the series last night with a convincing 9-3 win. Tyler Chatwood will make the start tonight for the Cubs, but newly activated Jose Quintana will see some action in tonight's game according to manager David Ross. Chatwood is 2-1 this season with a 5.40 ERA. Things did not go well his last time out, giving up 8 runs in 2.1 innings. He was suffering from back issues but is healthy for today's start.

Detroit has been playing really bad right now and had lost nine in a row before winning two of three against Cleveland. They returned to their losing ways last night against the Cubs. The Tigers will turn to
Spencer Turnbull to gets them back in the win column. This season he is 2-2 with a 3.65 ERA. Turnbull does not pitch well at home with a 1-13 record and a 5.21 ERA.

The Tigers are 0-10 in Turnbull's last 10 home starts vs. a team with a winning record. Baez got the bat going yesterday for the Cubs and the Cubs offense came to life scoring 9 runs. Chatwood is coming off a bad outing which may have to do with back issues. Turnbull has not pitched well at home. The Cubs are expected to use Quintana at some point in this game. I am taking the better offensive team and the better pitcher with the Cubs.

Play on Chicago.
