This is an 8* SUPER TOTAL on the OVER Preds/Ducks.

I love, from purely a situational stand point, how this contest sets up to be a higher-scoring affair. Because of that I'm going to make a play on the OVER.

Both teams clearly need a victory. The Preds are off the 3-2 loss at home to Dallas. They've seen the total go UNDER in two straight, but with a much tougher game at Vegas tomorrow night, I look for Nashville to open up the playbook offensively today to try and snap its two-game slide.

The Ducks are off a 3-2 shootout win over Vegas, and they'll be eager to build off that rare victory. They've now seen the total go UNDER in four straight, but note that they play with revenge here after falling 2-1 to the Preds at the end of November.

And that's significant to note here, as Anaheim has seen the total go OVER the number in eight of its last 12 in trying to avenge a loss against an opponent in which it was held to one or less goals in.

For all the reasons listed above, the play is the OVER.
