Both teams have been playing to several higher-scoring games of late, but I'm expecting those trends to end this evening.
Charlotte is coming off a 126-105 loss to the Clippers. Previous to that it pulled away for a 125-119 win at Sacramento. Both of those contests flew OVER the posted number.
Despite that though, the Hornets still only average 110.6 PPG. I think they'll struggle to reach that mark today, as they get caught looking ahead to their X-Mas break.
The Lakers comes in off back-to-back losses, falling 130-104 at Phoenix, and 134-120 at Sacramento. Both of those road contest went OVER the number. Previous to that they won two straight at home, and both of those games went UNDER the number.
I expect a strong defensive performance from the home side as it looks to go into its X-Mas day game off a win.
