This is a 6* BLOWOUT OF THE NIGHT on the New York Mets.
The Mets cruised to an 18-1 victory in the series opener last night and I think their bats stay hot on Saturday night as well.
These teams are suddenly moving in opposite directions and I think the oddsmakers are giving Toronto much too much respect here. New York has now won two in a row, and Toronto has lost two straight.
The Mets though are still two games out of an NL wild-card spot and with only two weeks left to go, clearly it's all hands on deck and no one will be saving any "gas in the tank" at this point.
Seth Lugo (2-2, 2.05 ERA) is 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA in two career relief outings vs. the Jays. As a starter this year Lugo has a 1.54 ERA and 20 K's with four walks over 11 2/3's innings of work.
Robbie Ray (1-4, 7.51) is a poor 0-0 with a 6.14 ERA for Toronto since coming over from Arizona. In five career starts vs. the Mets he owns a poor 5.78 ERA as well.
I think we're getting unbelievable value on what I deem to be the "better in form" starting pitcher, along with the "better in form" team overall.
The play is the Mets!
Good luck, NP
